The b/w photographs of Jochen Arentzen have been created since 2010. Under cover of darkness, the artist looks through his lens behind the windscreens of parked cars. There, he finds talismans and little mascots, curious miscellanies made up of the widest variety of found and souvenir items, and occasionally artistically arranged still lifes. The very personal space in the interior of cars is translated by the flash into a serial placelessness and, for a fraction of a second, becomes a public stage.
