Neighborhood corner shops serve as meeting places – but can also been seen as documents of the past. Nicole Compère presents her compilation of black & white photography on „KÖLNER LÄDEN – Stores of Cologne” in a unique setting. The former store of the milk and cheese merchant she photographed nearly three decades ago will once more turn into a meeting place before being torn down in a few weeks. The exhibition takes the visitor on a tour to a number of similar shops and specialty stores, that have been continually disappearing from city neighborhoods – or have persisted until today much like a time capsule.
