"Walden" _ analog meets digital

© Michael Hooymann
The exhibited works revolve primarily around imaginary landscapes, at the focus of which trees leaflessly/darkly rigidify into fictions of a primal landscape. Boggily/marshily they mutate into collaged, wintry “borderlands”. Trees/forest climb out of the picture space in order to lose themselves in the foggy universe. The forest is rearranged, lined and glued until it accrues a peculiar metaphorical aura, which is reminiscent in the broadest sense of sacred/Gothic pillars.
