He extracts completely new, unusual perspectives from well-known subjects by consistently rupturing visual habits and installing new viewpoints. Extremely narrow panoramas, assembled in multiple parts, have become his trademarks. Along the way, he bases himself of the statutes of classic craftsmanship: Kern relies exclusively on analogue photography and hence on the value of the traditional medium.
