“Killing in the name of...” presents an overall view of rare photographs of the Pacific war from the Japanese and American viewpoint. Both positions are finds, the provenance of which could not be more different: Early Japanese documentary photography, instrumentalized for propaganda purposes of the magazine Hōdō Shashin and the private property of the war photographer J.C. Parkyn, depict two opposing perspectives on precisely one war and its destructive force.
