Maillard’s numerous journeys through the world have influenced his photographic eye. Unadorned and without alienating effects, his analogue black-and-white shots depict reality as he finds it. Whether people, landscapes or street scenes, the gaze of the French photographer (*1944) is always direct, personal, obliging. The exhibition, presented by the Forum für Fotografie in co-operation with the Galerie Thomas Zander, shows shots from 1996 to 2018.
